Holiday Card Writing Party for Black & Pink
December 12, 2015 @ 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm
* Is LGBTQ hosted
* Has LGBTQ content
* May be of interest to the LGBTQ community
Join LGBT Books to Prisoners at our first holiday card-making party! The holidays can be a challenging and lonely time when you’re locked up and away from loved ones, so we’ll be decorating and sending holiday cards to LGBTQ folks who are currently in prison – with a goal of sending 100 cards! So, LGBT Books to Prisoners would love to have your help!
This will be one of at least 100+ parties happening across the globe to make sure every LGBTQ+ incarcerated member of Black and Pink gets a holiday card and knows that they are loved and not forgotten.
We’ll meet at Rainbow Bookstore Cooperative (426 W. Gilman St.) for our usual Saturday volunteer session and head over to Karma’s place for the card-making fun. Rides can be provided. Let us know if you would like a ride to and from the party.
There will be snacks, drinks, and card-making supplies. We’ll also have more information on ways that you can start to find an LGBTQ prisoner penpal if you want. Please bring a friend or two, extra card making supplies (no glitter or glue please), and a donation to help pay for postage (at least $35), if possible.
If you are not able to make it, please consider donating to Black and Pinktoday: http://
This event will take place from 12 PM – 3 PM.
If you’re looking for a ride, or just want to provide an accurate head count, RSVP here: https://www.facebook.com/events/1524990864458756/
