Are We Delicious? presents “Murder!(s) – a (mostly) true crime story”

In the swamps of New Jersey, 1932, a group of down-on-their luck speakeasy denizens take out a $2,000 life insurance policy on the biggest drunk in the bar. When an open tab doesn’t kill the drunk, the group attempts more comically outrageous ways to punch their ticket out of the Depression.

Starting with the barest outline, everyone in the Are We Delicious? ensemble writes scenes that are stitched together into a complete comic play in only one week. It’s a mad dash to opening night as scripts are written, costumes sewn and lines learned. Packed with wit, pratfalls and a lot of performance anxiety, Delicious is always fresh and a little dangerous, but when it comes together, a wonder to behold.

Are We Delicious? promises a fun night of theatre at the new Winnebago performance space on Winnebago Street (the former site of The Sons of Norway).
