This Event: May be of interest to the LGBTQ community

Mendota Rowing Club celebrates 40 years since its founding, and the 100th anniversary of its headquarters, Bernard’s Boathouse in James Madison Park. We’re adding fun for kids and landlubbers, to our annual, National Learn to Row Day excursions in 8-oared racing shells.

At noon, a commemorative proclamation from the City of Madison Mayor and Common Council, and an appearance by UW alumna and Olympic medalist Carie Graves top off this free public event.

From 8:30 am to noon, free yoga, history presentations, and boat-themed crafts for all ages will be offered in addition to the historic boathouse tour, and instruction in the basics of rowing. Save your spot in a rowing shell by registering online at http://www.mendotarowingclub.com/national-learn-to-row-day
