Out at the Symphony is a unique evening event blend of music and festivity, offered by the Madison Symphony Orchestra (MSO) Friday, May 2, at 7:30 p.m. A fantastic night of great live classical music in Overture Hall with an exclusive after party at Fresco will present attendees the opportunity to connect with maestro John DeMain, the MSO, and members and friends of Madison’s LGBTQ community.
John DeMain has a special connection with the music of George Gershwin, the uniquely American composer who wrote for Broadway and the symphony stage, alike. The concert in Overture Hall, 201 State Street, will explore monumental works such as Catfish Row Suite from Porgy and Bess and I Got Rhythm Variations. Then sizzling song selections from Leonard Bernstein, Harold Arlen, and Stephen Sondheim will set the stage for Symphonic Dances from West Side Story.
The after-concert party will be at Fresco, 227 State Street. Overlooking the rooftops of downtown Madison, guests will enjoy lively company, elegant hors d’oeuvres, and signature drink specials.
Attendees will also garner incredible discounts on the concert experience. A-price tickets (usually $82.50 each) in the Circle are only $55 for Out at the Symphony guests, and mezzanine seats are only $39. The ticket price includes entrance to the post-concert party. Attendees who have already subscribed or bought individual tickets can now join in on the after-concert party for only $15.
