The topic this time is “Black Mental Health and Spirituality”

We will be hearing from a panel of amazing minds on the topic of spirituality as it relates to Black mental health and wellness.

T Banks is a community organizer with Freedom Inc, a mental wellness advocate, poet and playwright.. T has been an active leader in the faith community, and in blazing trails for mental wellness.

Rev.Judge Everett Mitchell is the minister at Christ the Solid Rock Baptist Church. He is the newly elected judge of the Circuit Court of Dane County. He has been a passionate voice for change rooted in a deep spirituality.

Dr. Smith is a Yoruba Pastor. He will be joining SankofaBCH for the week and will be sharing his knowledge on the intricate connections of the experience of the African Diaspora and the need for spiritual and ancestral rooting.

The panel will be moderated by Dr. Valerie Henderson. She is the executive director and founder of Sankofa Behavioral & Community Health which has been expanding to reach the broad range of people who desire to find a home in Sankofa’s services. She is a psychologist as well as a visionary for wholistic health for Black Brown and other oppressed and resisting groups.
