Union Corners co-housing info session
September 12, 2015 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm
This Event: May be of interest to the LGBTQ community
Join members of the Union Corners cohousing planning groups for an informational meeting on Saturday, September 12, 3-5 pm, at the Norway Center, 2262 Winnebago St, Madison.
Learn more about what cohousing is and plans underway to establish, design and build two intentionally welcoming communities of homes and common spaces on Madison’s east side at Union Corners (E Washington & Milwaukee St).
Each community will have 35-40 privately-owned dwelling units, plus shared spaces and amenities. Residents will work together to care for their common property, while enjoying the benefits of close relationships within a diverse community of neighbors.
We are committed to creating ethnically, culturally and economically diverse communities that are affordable, environmentally responsible, inter-generational, LGBTQPoC+ and senior friendly.
We’re exploring features such as green construction, indoor and outdoor common areas, underground parking, community gardens, and a walkable neighborhood. Together we are dedicated to enhancing the quality of life of our residents and the vibrancy of our community. We invite like-minded individuals with shared values and a commitment to participatory decision-making to join us in making this project happen.
Highlights of this meeting will be the latest updates on groundbreaking and construction timelines for the Union Corners development, how you can become a part of helping to create two lively cohousing communities there, and answers to any questions you have.
All are welcome at this free, casual and low-key gathering. Light refreshments will be served.
