Registration for MGVA’s Upcoming

Fall/Winter Season Is Now Open

Last Day to Register is Sunday, Oct. 23;

Season Starts Sunday, Nov. 6

Milwaukee Gay Volleyball Association’s (MGVA) upcoming Fall/Winter Season will begin Sunday, Nov. 6. Registration is open and will remain accessible through Sunday, Oct. 23. Registration is first-come, first-served, so interested participants should register as promptly as possible before the court space fills up!

Play will take place on Sunday evenings (with breaks for holidays). Matches are played indoors at Beulah Brinton Community Center, 2555 S. Bay St. in Bay View.

There are divisions for athletes who want to play more competitively, people who want to play a moderately competitive game and folks who want to play just for fun/recreationally. MGVA is a safe place for people of all backgrounds, gender and gender expression. Everyone is welcome!

Cost for the 11-week session is $45/player (or $35 with a current student ID). Teams of 6 or more may pay a team fee of $250. Registration fees are due on or before Friday, Nov. 4. Teams will not be allowed to play until the team fee is paid.

Registration can be completed online, by mail or in person at a registration event.

The online form can be found at www.milwaukeegayvolleyball.com/register.

The MGVA mailing address is: MGVA, P.O. Box 817, Milwaukee WI 53201.

Opportunities to register and pay in person include:

MGVA Wednesday Night Open Play

Wednesday, Oct. 197 to 9:30 p.m. • Beulah Brinton Community Center (2555 S. Bay St.)

MGVA Wednesday Night Open Play

Wednesday, Oct. 267 to 9:30 p.m. • Beulah Brinton Community Center (2555 S. Bay St.)
More opportunities to pay in person will be added. Check www.milwaukeegayvolleyball.com for updates.

Whenever possible — and to save money — teams should organize and pay as a team. Individuals can meet other players to form a team at open play sessions or by posting their availability on MGVA’s Facebook page (www.facebook.com/groups/milwaukeegayvolleyball).

The team fee should be made in one check (made payable to MGVA) or in cash at one of the registration events or by mail. All team members must still register individually using the registration link so MGVA can collect individual preferences and emergency contact information. If team members do not register using the link, MGVA will work with team captains to place as many individuals on the team to create a complete team.

Since 2009, the Milwaukee Gay Volleyball Association (MGVA) has offered competitive and recreational volleyball to all persons who wish to play, regardless of sexual orientation, gender, or gender identity. Our Fall/Winter Season runs from early November to early February; our Spring Season runs from early March to late May. Our Outdoor Season takes place from June to October. League play takes place on Sundays at Beulah Brinton Community Center in Bay View. Spectators are always welcome.

MGVA also coordinates an annual Pride Tournament each June at PrideFest Milwaukee, the world’s largest LGBT festival with permanent festival grounds. The league also holds weekly Open Play throughout the year so current members can practice and new people who are interested in joining in the future can meet (you do not need to be a current MGVA member to attend Open Play). Whether you’re looking for a new social outlet, a chance to rekindle your competitive spirit, or simply want to be involved in something worthwhile, MGVA has an opportunity for you.

If you have any questions, please e-mail mgvamembership@gmail.com or visit the MGVA website at www.milwaukeegayvolleyball.com.
