Milwaukee Gay Volleyball Association’s Upcoming Spring Season Begins March 4

by | Jan 23, 2018 | 0 comments

Milwaukee Gay Volleyball Association’s (MGVA) upcoming Spring Season will be a 12-week session that begins Sunday, March 4. Registration will open Feb. 1 and will remain accessible until midnight on Friday, Feb. 23. Registration is first-come, first-served, so interested participants should register promptly before the court space fills up!

The Spring Season will continue through Sunday, May 20. Play takes place over consecutive Sundays with just one break on Easter Sunday (April 1). Matches are played indoors at Beulah Brinton Community Center, 2555 S. Bay St. in Bay View.

There are divisions for players who want to play more competitively (Gold), moderately competitively (Silver) and just for fun/recreationally (Bronze). MGVA is a safe place for people of all backgrounds, gender and sexual expression; everyone is welcome!

Cost is $45/player (or $35 with a current student ID). Teams of 6 or more may pay a team fee of $250.

Registration fees are due on or before March 1.

Registration can be completed online or in person at a registration event.

ONLINE — The online form can be found at www.milwaukeegayvolleyball.com.

MGVA Wednesday Night Open Play

Wednesday, Feb. 21 • 7 to 9:30 p.m. • Beulah Brinton Community Center (2555 S. Bay St.)

Whenever possible — and to save money — teams can organize and pay as a team. Individuals can meet other players to form a team at open play sessions or by posting their availability on MGVA’s Facebook page (www.facebook.com/groups/milwaukeegayvolleyball).

The team fee should be made in one check (made payable to MGVA) or in cash at one of the registration events or by mail. All team members must still register individually using the registration link so MGVA can collect individual preferences and emergency contact information. If team members do not register using the link, MGVA will work with team captains to place as many individuals on the team to create a complete team.

MGVA offers three seasons each year: two indoor seasons in the fall and spring and an outdoor season in the summer.

If you have any questions, please e-mail mgvamembership@gmail.com or visit the MGVA website at www.milwaukeegayvolleyball.com.
