TransLiberation Art Coalition seeks submissions for spring art show

by | Mar 2, 2017 | 0 comments

The TransLiberation Art Coalition announces its FREE debut Spring Show! The first ever biannual event will feature art, music, food, goods and more from the local transgender*, gender-queer, and non-binary community on Saturday April 15th, from Noon to 4 p.m. at the High Noon Saloon, 701 E. Washington Ave.

Local band, Token Minority (headliner at the Madison Women’s March), will kick off the stage, followed by local transfeminine author Cali Juniper who will be reading excerpts from her latest autobiographical novella, The Calm and the Storm. In addition to an excellent onstage lineup, this event features paintings, drawings, photography, educational materials, baked goods and more.

The TransLiberation Art Coalition was created to generate visibility, and to empower and elevate the lives of our trans*, gender-queer, and non-binary community. Proceeds of the event fight erasure, controversial law-making, media misconceptions and cisgender appropriation of transgender* narratives. The coalition uses an online community, pop-up events and two art shows a year to endeavor towards those goals.

There is no cost for this event, admission is free, please visit www.transliberation.space for more information.
