The need for culturally competent leaders is critically important. And though attaining cultural competence does not occur in the short term, its long-term impact is beneficial for the entire community.
Community Shares of Wisconsin (CSW) is hosting a Cultural Competence Leadership Institute for nonprofit organizations, individuals, and businesses. This is a two-day, 16-hour leadership development opportunity with curriculum designed to help leaders reflect, analyze, and prepare for intentional professional and organizational growth—especially in terms of serving diverse groups with a high degree of competence.

Date: Monday and Tuesday, April 20-21
Time: 8:30 am – 4:30 pm each day
Cost: $160; discounted to $130 for multiple people from an organization

CSW’s Cultural Competence Leadership Institute can help you gain information, skills, and insights, which in turn can help you:
• Analyze subtle and overt messages that organizations send about power, privilege, and culture
• Articulate the rationale to develop cultural competence throughout your organization
• Identify effective strategies to build cultural competence
• Discover and practice evidence-based quality improvement strategies for improving services

• Improving staff and team development, service delivery, organizational environments, and community relationships

Teams are invited to make the most of this professional development event by completing a pre-training self-assessment. The tool guides internal stakeholders through a process of examining the organizational environment, exploring community collaboration and governance/leadership, and focusing in on service delivery data and processes. To learn more about this tool and how you and your team can use it to assess areas of capacity and opportunity for growth, join the trainers for a pre-assessment conference call.
