England swings with the sounds of SHOUT! The Mod Musical. This fun-filled review tracks the lives of five young women coming of age in the liberating days of 1960s London. With such classic tunes as “To Sir With Love,” “Downtown,” “Son of a Preacher Man,” and “Diamonds Are Forever,” SHOUT! chronicles the dawning of the new women’s liberation movement, seen with the rise of such pop luminaries as Dusty Springfield, Petula Cark, and Lulu. The eye-popping fashions, psychedelic dances, and groovy songs will definitely make you want to stand up and SHOUT!

The Penelopiad by Margaret Atwood

With characteristic a wry wit, Margaret Atwood flips Homer’s The Odyssey by recounting the plight of Penelope as she waits for husband Odysseus to return—fending off hundreds of suitors as she and her handmaidens hold together the house Odysseys abandoned for his quest.  Upon his arrival, Odysseus’s treatment of the maids, a footnote in the original story, becomes the central event in Atwood’s brilliant and contemporary retelling.

The Rail Splitter by Rick Cleveland

The Rail Splitter is a play about Abraham Lincoln — except, really, it’s not. An uproarious satire of the docudrama genre, Cleveland’s new play explores the twisting of facts as a group of college students attempt to write a play about the 16th president. The students begin with the best intentions but their efforts go incredibly — and hilariously — haywire. The more they dig up, the more ridiculous their ideas become!

As You Like It by William Shakespeare

A classic Shakespearean comedy featuring strong female leads, mistaken identities, and hilarious attempts at finding love in the forest of Arden.
