An Intimate Partner Violence Awareness Month Event with They Won’t Win

October 16 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Free

Please join us for a concert and program to raise awareness about Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) within the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ) community.

Diverse & Resilient is thrilled to partner with The Refuge and Rainbow Over Wisconsin to bring D&R’s LGBTQ IPV Awareness Month event to Appleton! The program will feature a survivor speaker and the band They Won’t Win to highlight this often closeted issue within the LGBTQ community. Join us for a night of inspiration and liberation!

The folk-rock duo They Won’t Win is made up of Danny M. Cohen and Greg Lanier. Originally, the duo played around the Chicago area as Danny Plus Greg but changed their name to They Won’t Win in 2017 when they went into the studio to record their debut album, Lost At Sea, which features cellist Chai Wolfman, keyboardist Ben Walter, and a tight-knit group of musicians and collaborators from Chicago and Nashville. This Folk-Rock duo recently released its first full-length album, Lost At Sea, exploring grief, intimate partner violence, LGBTQ acceptance, and the healing power of music-making.

Diverse & Resilient is proud to announce that they are opening an office in Appleton soon and this serves as their kick off event! D&R has been in Milwaukee for over 20 years and they are now bringing the Room to Be Safe Anti-Violence Program to Northeast Wisconsin.

Local anti-violence programs will be onsite with information about their programing.

This event is FREE but due to very limited space, please register to reserve your seats at the link below.
