Enough is enough. With this string of recent outrages, disappointments and betrayals it is past time for us to join together, rise up and storm the gates of the High Noon Saloon to see five fantastic rock musicals written and staged in a single week.

A week before opening, without a clue as to what they’ll do, Are We Delicious? will bring together 5 great Madison writer/performers and 5 rocking Madison composer/musicians and ask them: WHAT IS MAKING YOU ANGRY??!!!!

Five rock musicals will grow from that. Maybe it’s the government, or society that’s pissing them off, maybe it’s a redesign of the Facebook news feed — whatever it is — the Delicious ensemble will shed blood, sweat and tears to bring it rockingly to your ears in a single week.

Building on the success of Musical Fantasy and Musical Library from last season, Are We Delicious? Musical Rebellion will blow the roof off the HighNoon Saloon with this unbelievable line-up of Madison talent:

Writer/performers: Hannah Ripp-Dieter, Jake Penner, Karen Moeller, Kiki Moritsugu & Brad Knight

Composer/Musicians: Andrew Rohn, Sean Michael Dargan, Charlie Cheney, Melissa Brumm & Biff Blumfumgagnge

Two Performances: Tuesday, May 12th, 7 pm and Wednesday, May 13th, 7 pm
Venue: High Noon Saloon, 701 East Washington, Madison
Admission price: $12, cash at the door
Running time: one hour

Are We Delicious? is an ensemble of Madison writer/performers/musicians who conceive, write, rehearse and perform an original one-hour show of short *musical* plays in a single week. Everyone writes, everyone acts, everyone sings, everyone jams and no one can rest until the final curtain.

Are We Delicious? is dedicated to quick, delicious fare made from local ingredients and presented cabaret-style, with time between pieces to socialize, order a drink or do whatever. Musical Rebellion is the 19th Are We Delicious? production.

Hannah Ripp-Dieter is a Madison based actress. A recent graduate from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a degree in acting, she is also a singer, songwriter, and sometimes playwright. This summer she worked as an understudy with American Players Theatre. She is currently in rehearsals for Sunday on the Rocks with Intermission Theatre. Hannah was also recently cast in the University’s upcoming production of Fugitive Songs, in which she will be playing a real role, designed for an adult! Favorite past roles include Martha in Spring Awakening, Kathy in Hound of the Baskervilles and any role she has ever played that was intended for a man. She has taken part in many Madison area productions over the years, but this is her first Are We Delicious? show and she couldn’t be more excited..

Karen Moeller has worked with Forward Theater, CTM, Four Seasons, MTM, Strollers, and many other Madison theatre companies. She is the Artistic Associate for Forward Theater Company. Karen appeared regularly in Chad Vader, and works as a commercial and voiceover actress.

Brad Knight is Creative Director for the award-winning Madison improv troupe Monkey Business Institute. When he’s not performing, teaching, training or philosophising about improv, you might find him reading, camping, hanging out with his dog Turtle, or geeking out with some games.

Andrew Rohn got his start in Madison theater here at Broom St. in 1990, working with the inimitable Joel Gersman. He wrote the music for Joel’s “The Grant” and “My Fair Arab”, where he met his wife Catherine. The two of them went on to write the musicals “Temp Slave”, “Walmartopia” and “In the Beginning”. “Walmartopia” ran Off-Broadway for four months in 2007. They also wrote many short musicals over the years for Mercury Players “Blitz” festivals, and Andrew wrote and performed for Delicious Musical Fantasy last Spring. His music was featured in Doug Reed’s “Nottingham”, recently at Broom St, and his compositions have been used by Apple and The Onion, among others. He accompanies local improv troupe Monkey Business Institute on keyboard, and he also leads local disco supergroup V05 and the critically acclaimed but very obscure emo-folk (or maybe that’s completely wrong) duo The Passersby.
Sean Michael Dargan’s songs are like Lyle Lovett and Elvis Costello playing scrabble with Aimee Mann at a Gin Blossoms show; stylish and tall, he is a melodious singer, and a nefarious guitar player.

Charlie Cheney has written and performed songs with Jackson Browne, Pat MacDonald, Victoria Williams and members of Little Feat, Nine Inch Nails, Jane’s Addiction, and P-Funk. He has also co-written and staged 2 musicals in NYC and Chicago. This is Charlie’s first Are We Delicious?

Melissa Brumm is a musician, DJ, web designer, horticulturalist, yogini and live music enthusiast from Madison, Wisconsin. She plays cello with the Studio Orchestra, a group that brings music to people who can’t afford or are unable to go out to see live music. AND, Melissa is DJ Madonna in the Beatles-specific DJ group DJ Sun Queen & DJ Madonna. They play at Beatles festivals around the country and are currently expanding their repertoire to non-Beatles favorites to play locally. Did we mention Melissa loves the Beatles? This is Melissa’s first Are We Delicious?

Biff Blumfumgagnge is an instructor at the Madison Media Institute, Biff created (and rocks weekly with) Madison’s favorite live karaoke band, the Gomers. He sneaks in playing, producing, recording and touring with luminaries such as King Crimson, Lee Scratch Perry, Kicksville, Steely Dane, Marques Bovre & the Evil Twins, Robert Fripp, Willy Porter, Clyde Stubblefield, Freedy Johnston, Adrian Belew, Natty Nation, Reptile Palace Orchestra, Marshall Crenshaw, Hanah Jon Taylor, The Zombeatles, V05, Emmetville, Water Street Bridge, Guided By Puppets and many more. has been onstage as a musician and actor in Madison, WI since Stage Coach Players, Shakespeare In The Backyard and The Vern & Evelyn Show. More recently he has been in Walmartopia’s Madison & NYC runs, Are We Delicious’ “In The Beginning,” The Cherry Poptart Burlesque review and Comedy Sportz. Biff also performed in Broom Street’s Breakfast For The World, CTM’s A Christmas Carol, Madison Ballet’s Dracula and I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change at the Overture Center. In Chicago Biff was involved in the Annoyance Theater and performed in the Real Live Rudolph as well as some midnight variety shows. He created and rocks weekly with Madison’s House Band, The Gomers as well as Kicksville, The Reptile Palace Orchestra, Water Street Bridge and also techs for King Crimson and Robert Fripp. Biff likes nutty, snippy cheeses like aged gouda from Holland.
