“Dizzyland: Leon Varjian and the Antics of the Pail and Shovel Party,” features the work of UW-Madison alumnus Leon Varjian. He was known as a prankster and dedicated humanitarian, who worked with students to raise money for various nonprofits, and created memorable art experiences around campus, such as flamingos on Bascom Hill and the Statue of Liberty in Lake Mendota. This exhibition is curated by Yusi Liu and Zack McDowell from WUD Art in collaboration with Leon Varjian Collection, UW Madison Archives. The opening reception will feature screen printing on postcards of the pink flamingo.
Opening reception from 5 to 7 p.m. on May 6 in the Class of 1925 Gallery in the Memorial Union. Exhibition runs May 6 through June 5.
