Freya is the Norse goddess of love, sex, beauty, fertility, gold, shamanic sorcery, war, and death, which pretty much aligns with our mission statement. Therefore, on Sunday, September 30th, Bos Meadery will once again host Freya Fest, a festival celebrating the vibrant community of female musicians and female-led bands in Madison!
This year’s fest will be held inside on the Mead Hall stage with your returning emcee Cooper Talbot!

Bone Holler is a band formed from four established female musicians in Madison that performs a surprisingly fun mix of murder/death songs.
Veteran Madison, Wisconsin area performers Beth Kille, Shawndell Marks, and Jen Farley combine forces in a power pop-rock trio, featuring tight three-part harmonies, honest & gritty songwriting and riveting performances to form Gin, Chocolate and Bottle Rockets. A little sass, a little sweet, and a whole lot of fire.
Raine Stern is a young, well versed guitar player and singer from Madison, WI. She has performed in many respected groups from the Madison area. Her original work incorporates a vast array of influences and results in a unique blend of folk, jazz, blues, pop, rock, rhythm and blues, and reggae.
Musically delicious, as some might say, “So big and juicy you can eat them with a spoon.” The Fancy Pears will fill you up fat and happy with catchy rock ‘n’ roll grooves of alternative, folk, and pop.
In their combined efforts, Venus in Furs creates a fast tempo, mostly instrumental party of sound that is influenced both by post-punk and classic surf rock music. Its all served up with highly energetic stage show, with the goal to get you dancing!
