June Bird Walk – Horicon Marsh
June 27 @ 7:00 am - 4:00 pm
Welcome to the Madison Wisconsin Feminist Bird Clubs’s February event! We are a bird watching club dedicated to promoting diversity in birding and providing a safe opportunity to connect with the natural world while fundraising to protect the rights of LGBTQIA+ folks, women, and people of color.
Whether you are just getting started birdwatching or have years of experience, all levels are welcome. Join us as we explore Horicon Marsh for nesting birds, migrants, and more!
Group size is limited to 20, so sign up on the Eventbrite page before June 18th!
Date: Saturday, June 27, 2020
Time: 7am to ~4pm
Meet at the Dutch Mill Park and Ride at 7am where we will organize carpooling. If you need a ride to the Park and Ride, please send us a message! We will drive together to the Sauk City/Prairie du Sac area, and make a series of stops at birding spots on the way. We aim to return to the Park and Ride about 4pm, but if you need to be back earlier, please let us know and we can coordinate an early departure vehicle, or you could drive separately.
Directions to the Park & Ride can be found here:
What to bring:
Binoculars and a scope if you have them. We will have several scopes on hand for people to share. If you have a scope, please consider bringing it. Please message or email us if you need binoculars so we can provide you with some. Bring snacks, water, and a lunch. Dress for the weather! We will be in and out of the car a lot, but it may be hot and rainy!
Suggested donation: $5 to cover the cost of gas.
We plan to hold this event rain or shine!
In the event of hazardous conditions we will cancel and notify you no later than Friday evening, 6/26/2020 at 6:00PM over Facebook.
