(MADISON, Wis.) Mayor Paul Soglin and Ald. Scott Resnick will debate each other March 19 at the Barrymore Theatre, 2090 Atwood Ave. This is the only general election forum sponsored by neighborhoods and will be an important opportunity for many residents to participate in local democracy. Renee Lauber, a board member of the Marquette Neighborhood Association, will moderate.

Doors will open at 6 p.m. The forum will begin promptly at 6:30 p.m. Attendees are welcome to linger after conclusion of the formal program at 8:00 p.m.

Sponsors include the Marquette Neighborhood Association, Tenney Lapham Neighborhood Association, Schenk Atwood Starkweather Yahara Neighborhood Association, Worthington Park Neighborhood Association, Capitol Neighborhoods, Homeless Services Consortium of Madison, WORT 89.9 FM and Isthmus.

The moderator will pose questions to the candidates collected from sponsoring groups and audience members, who can submit questions via index cards throughout the forum.

The event will be broadcast live on WORT 89.9 FM and webcast on wortfm.org and isthmus.com.

Blankets, warm clothing and non-perishable food items will be collected as part of a food and clothing drive at the event.
