by | Mar 5, 2014 | 0 comments

StageQ has openings for directors for QUEER SHORTS 9, our ninth annual shorts playfest, running June 13-21, 2014 at the Bartell Theater in Madison.

Are you Queer identified or an ally? Do you love theater?
And… Are you an experienced director who wants to participate in a fun, queer community celebration?
Or… Have you dreamed of directing but been afraid to dive in the deep end with a full length production?
Or… Have you dreamed of directing, but just couldn’t get your foot in the door?

Here is your chance!

What You Need to Know

We will have 10-12 short plays running from 2 to 15 minutes long. We will be reading through the finalist scripts in early April, with auditions mid-April and rehearsals beginning shortly thereafter. Queer Shorts performances are June 13-21, 2014 on the Drury Stage at the Bartell Theatre.

What We Need to Know

If you are interested in directing, please write and tell us about:

1. Your directing experience, if any…
2. Your other theater experience (and if you haven’t directed, why you would like to)
3. Your availability/conflicts from April 1 through June 12.
4. If you are a new director, are you open to coaching/mentoring?
5. Why you are interested in Queer Shorts and StageQ?

To be considered, please e-mail us by March 31 with your info to stageqartisticdirector@stageq.com

Please include your phone number(s) as well as your email address.
